First to comment, SWEEET! I love the way you used the strange, exaggerated twisted shapes of the winter trees to create an erie atmosphere. The misty background also helps this as well as the contrast of light and dark, almost silhouette of the branchs at the top of the painting. Great job 9/9

What!!!...no description!!!... ...... It's a lovely painting...rendered with great clarity...the trees of course steal the show almost making the 2 figures superfluous so I'm not sure how this will fare in the competition....but it's a great image none the less...best of luck.

I also have to say that the trees' details are AMAZING. I feel the two figures convey something sad (parting ways) and yet promising (for his return) The title is what I'm actually doing right now... just4nz is on his way back here in Osaka within 4 days!!! Ok...nothing to do with the artwork but this somehow reflects what I feel at the moment ...Just wondering what their home looks like in that part of the woods! Mystery, love and maybe death. First detail I noticed were crows on a branch of the tree. This could simbolise death as long journey or neverending one. Next fine detail is flower in woman's head, and last detail man waving for his long leaving. Great mood and fantastic details on this one. Robert

I feel hesitant to make any level of criticism, it is an excellent piece of artwork. I might suggest though that the white dress of the woman seems out of place in such a forest setting. I also think that the painting could be interestingly served by not having the woman at all. It would then appear as though the man was waving back to a viewer, perhaps you, but also with the suggestion of seeing through anothers eyes.

Now this does speak for itself. If this does get disqualified it's a damn shame. I wish to see more on the bottom, but I think it's just my own visual preference and not arts sake. I guess with less weight at the bottom, your eye is lead down the path in perspective. Giving you a "long journey" feel. Your attention to detail is through-out, is seems as if you never get bored. I personally drawn to the tree on the right, it has a good shape and movement. fun stuff...

Crazy twisted trees, wonderful and not noticable details at first sight (those crows up here are really symbolic of a dangerous and thready journey, if this is what you meant). I LOVE IT +9/9
